About
The Author
Nancy Libbey Mills grew up in Northern California and went to Oregon State
University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts.
Mills's books are some of the smartest books written in the children's book
genre. Children feel like they're being spoken to like adults and adults
are reminded of the feelings of being a kid. There's a sophistication and there
are turns of phrases not usually found in children's stories.
Books from Mills include "The Knight the Moon and the Stars Got Stuck", "Hug a
Bug", "Never Eat Cabbage on Thursday", and "And Dance with the Orange Cow".
Never Eat Cabbage on Thursday was a winner in the Best Children's Book category
in 2003 from the Colorado Independent Publishers Association.
Mills wrote the lyrics on the children's music CD, Welcome to Garden Street.
Currently, she lives at the Beach House in Aurora, Colorado, where the sun
always shines and the tulips are always in bloom. With her, lives a big, not too
fastidious, longhaired, orange cat who came for dinner one night and never
left. Mills is a 29 year resident of Colorado. She has two children and two
grandchildren.
